Increased use of security cameras has reduced violence against Taxi drivers in Sweden
The Swedish public service TV broadcaster (SVT) recently reported that armed robbery against taxi drivers in Sweden has decreased dramatically since the all time high in year 2000. In the news flash the president of the Swedish Taxi Federation (Svenska Taxiförundet), Thomas Winskog, says that the introduction of security cameras (surveillance cameras) is a major cause of the reduced number of armed robberies against taxi drivers in Sweden. Pointguard started distributing security cameras for the Swedish taxi market in year 2000 and introduced the very popular model Taxisnap RR 1000 a few years later. Today Pointguard is the leading supplier of security cameras for Taxi in Sweden and has, e.g., supplied a large number of security cameras to Taxi Stockholm and Taxi Gothemburg. Pointguard's system is very user friendly, super compact and specially developed for professional users that demand high quality, high durability and simple installation.
